About Newcastle

Newcastle is Australia's sixth largest city, and is at the heart of the Hunter Region of New South Wales.

Following a redistribution of boundaries for the 2007 Federal Election, the Electorate of Newcastle covers the city and inner suburbs as well as a wider area that includes Williamtown, Heatherbrae and Thornton in the North, Black Hill, Shortland, Jesmond and Lambton in the West, and Kotara and Merewether Heights in the South.

You can view a map of the redistributed Federal Electorate of Newcastle here.
